Prevent is one of the four components in the Government’s counter-terrorism strategy – CONTEST. The aim of PREVENT is to reduce and manage the risk of people being drawn into terrorism, by safeguarding and supporting those vulnerable to radicalisation.

The Prevent Development Officer aims to deliver this objective, by building awareness of Prevent throughout institutions in St Helens, to challenge extremism. Working closely with educational and community-based settings, such as schools and community-based groups, to understand the risks and vulnerabilities impacting children, young people and vulnerable adults. To identify and deliver well-informed training and offer advice/guidance, that helps to build resilience and compliance towards the Prevent Agenda.
