undefinedDancing for joy...Youngsters celebrate with St Helens Council's Youth Service staff after being awarded an AQA Accreditation Certificate after completing a five - week dance project.

Four young people from Derbyshire Hill Youth Club‘s Additional Needs Group (818) have been awarded an AQA Accreditation Certificate - after completing a five- week dance project.

Sophie Dowdle, Sam Fairhurst, Emily Moran and Oliver Brown took part in the project led by qualified dance teacher, Hayley Lythgoe, who works as a Youth & Play Coordinator for St Helens Youth Service.

The young people and staff were involved in choreographing a dance routine to Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk before performing it to parents, carers and other young people.

Youth Service Manager Helen McCabe said: “The project enabled the young people to improve their self -awareness, self - confidence, co-ordination, creativity and team work skills. They were all fantastic.”
